"The graceful, elegant and stunningly beautiful piece of art exceeded any expectations that we had and, on first sight, reduced us to speechless delight."
We proposed painting a 5-paneled screen, so that the artwork would feel more like furniture than a mural painting. The tall, slender panels of the screen accentuate and reflect the verticality of the interiors of the home. Working closely with the clients, we agreed on the scale, subject and composition of the work based on schematic pencil & watercolor sketches of the proposed piece inspired by local landscapes. We paid very particular attention to selecting the palette of colors. Again we were creating work for a home under construction, so we used architectural drawings to determine scale and placement decisions.
All work was completed in the studio with two visits from the clients during the painting process to confirm the subtlety of colors and composition.
We feel that the resultant work is a unique blend of the clients' intentions for the painting and our vision, both manifested in the finished piece.
"Of all the pleasures in building our new home, by far the greatest was working with the BRILLIANT artists at Chip and Scribble. We commissioned Lynne to design and paint an eight foot high, five paneled folding screen. This screen was to be the main focal point of the dining room and indeed, of the house. The graceful, elegant and stunningly beautiful piece of art exceeded any expectations that we had and, on first sight, reduced us to speechless delight. That delight continues every day. We have never worked with anyone easier and kinder or more professional. Their art touches our lives and we would be delighted to talk to anyone considering the good fortune of working with Chip and Scribble Fine Art."
